Doggie Angel, unfinished, 24x18 inches
A.
I have completely removed the sky by now since it is completely useless.
Instead I have put the sky objects directly into the art as if you are looking down at it onto the ground.
Furthermore, there is no angle though there is still depth.
B.
by making the dog looking directly at the star, it makes the dog heavenly.

In addition to the HVSW rules:
The unbiased color is yellow, and it is hidden with pv23 and white. It is the surrounding color.
The trees are yellow and green and a tiny bit of another color and white.
I would add mostly one color and white to equal values or control them, and another just slightly to create multitudes of colors so you can't see the tube color.
house-pv23, white, blue?
and other roof side has pv19 just slightly too.
By adding a very small amount of color to anything, it creates a unique color not purchasable, but by adding white I am creating control

E. Multiple layers around the star, and not just one, plus there was nothing to thin it.... meaning oil or gamisol
The star on top is layered after it dried.
I am still using too much white. I need white to balance out the colors' Values. But too much white will make it chalky.
I shouln't be too down on myself... Van Gogh had the same problem for quite a while before he balanced it out.
F. I have gotten closer to my goal in color theory. You can see it in the stars on the top right and the mid left. The stars have less white, but still share colors of one or two and a slight third to give the illusion that it is bright but not out of the tube.
Also, I used a round brush, ignoring the edges just slightly. If I want it to be lined off between colors, that will come later when I work the outside color. This is also the second coat... the first of the stars were less saturated using more white, and possibly less different types of colors.
This created an interesting look even if you could see the parts between the edges of the star and the darker/more saturated interior.
The new tree is confusing even though the rules are being followed. This is because, I think, there are too many changes, and the sideways tree on the right that is covering part of it is making it confusing since it is solid and I couldn't paint where the tree behind it would be... This makes it confusing... The eye can only handle so much change/illusion.
This gave me an idea where I can create as much dissonance as possible to create beauty. The trees will go in no particular direction, and the stars go on top unless there is a heavenly body.Still there is depth, but there would be overlapping everywhere, and no ground to sky. It would be showing structure based on itself. I can star with this piece. I need to keep adding more imagery to create structure in certain places.
The colors are off, but I can overlay the correct colors
I'm working with the colors.
The mushroom didn't do anything. They are nearly gone.
I like the butterfly idea, but the eyes look horrible and so does the shape of the butterfly. I need to study the butterfly and eyes. I want the eyes to be oversized and cartoonish.
The eyes and the butterfly are so far off I can't even tyell what they are. I like the idea of the eyes being round. Still, it works, just that the eyes look pasted on.
