I always found Bryce canyon national park to be a beautiful and unique place. I found it interesting how the bits and pieces stacked up to create the interesting forms. I have several pictures for memories, and eventually, I created a couple of paintings that I felt connected me to the location. 

I always felt there was something magical about Bryce. At the same time, I was deep into understanding color, and how to use it. I spent years studying color, and by the time I  created this piece, I really understood what was going on. I balanced the structure of color to create this piece the way I wanted it. 

I used my signature line technique to create depth and lines to create the rainbow look. By this time it had become less important top show the sky. I mean, how much can you do with the sky compared to the earth. But I used my study of color top enhanse the sky so it would be more interesting than just blue.
