I got the leaves/blossoms of the tree are all wrong. The colors are off, and the edges of the colors are wrong. They force the eye to blend. Also the color being off causes the blending effect worse.

The HVS  and W are all wrong here in the blossoms on the tree.

I consider this painting a failure, but I do like my control of the colors outside the tree.

The contrast between the heavier saturation and the mixed saturation next to it on everything next to the tree creates vibrancy

After this major debacle of creating the piece above, I started using varying levels of contrast next to the colors to create interest instead of mixing the colors.

For now on, this is how I am going to paint, combining this style with what I have learned to create a unique style that is my own.

I still have not decided if I will control the edges or use smaller brushes to get a different look.
