Things I like, and things I can work on...
Good:
I am already getting control over the colors properly, and I am using white to balance things properly here.
I like the broken look of where I alter the color over another color
I like that there is no up and down
Strangely, even though a focal object usually does not work in the center of a piece-because it creates a bulleseye- Here I created two trees in the center and it works. Why? Maybe because it creates huge movement away from the lower center to the top? At the top there are several green triangles and a yellow bird (see under 'however', 8).
The yellow/pv19 (yellow deep look) along with the yellow green behind it on the left is vibrating well with the pv23/pv19 between it... However, there is another color mixed in in the violet that I can't put my finger on. White balances it,, along with this other color to balance the value between the four parts (there is also another color under the violet).
To work on:
the brush strokes, even though I liked the blatent look of them at first, look to amateurish now. They should be constructed so you can't see they are brush strokes, and the ends and beginnings of them should be controlled.
The trees could have inlets and be decorated. The art is too boring and doesn't catch the eye like it could, even more.
The edges to the green triangles at the left top could be sharper. In fact, the edges of everything needs to be more obvious.
The yellow bird works, but it is not obvious enough what it is. I have been painting birds enough that I should be able to do this., also I broke the bird up with two strokes... A downward one and a set of smaller upper ones.Â
