Now you can spend the night with me
Now you could spend the night with me.
We’ll eat a pizza pie tonight,
And phone our friends ‘till in the wee.
We’ll sneak around and throw tee pee.
And in the eve the sea, contrite
Will breeze the salty air, delight.
We’ll watch Late Night, and all TV
Until the early morning, three.
Now you could spend the night with me.
We’ll stay the night and watch a fright.
We’ll drink some coke and sneak to see
The cutest folk and kiss them, right.
We’ll breath the air and scamper home
The late night fog, it smells a fume.
And home, it thrills, might parents loom.
And through the window of the room
I tumble in, you shush my noise.
Our rocky night, our feet in loam,
I try collecting guile and poise.
And quickly, under sheets we dome.
Where mom peers in, and, yes, we sleep!
And quietly you make a peep.
“We made it in, we stuck the night!
We even made it back alright!”
We wake again, an hour’s time
And sweetened grains with milk I crunch
Another night of fun, we had
It’s over now, and kind of sad.
Now you could spend the night with me.
You’ll play go fish and war for free.
And then we’ll jump upon the beds
Until We jump and hit our heads.
But we don’t care, and laugh this time.
The buttered popcorn calls to us.
We sprinkle salt and squeeze the lime
And drink the sprite without a fuss!
Now you could spend the night with me.
I’ll hold you tight, reminding times
That you were there, below the tree
And eating pizza, popcorn, coke,
A kiss, a drink, and throw tee pee
And you were there to squeeze the limes.
You played the cards into the night
And then you slept until sunlight.
And safety sails the night, infuse,
tomorrow’s happiness ensues.
Now you can spend the night with me.
Tomorrow’s yesterday, you’ll see.
And every day, another new,
and different sameness, different you.
